Software developer at Mapbox · Helsinki

Gulin
I design and build focused software: Android apps that give people their attention back, and tools for thinking on the web.
Since June 2026 I have been at Mapbox in Helsinki, on the Automotive Integration team. On my own time I ship apps: nfcGuard has passed 1,250 users and Awareen 350, all of them organic. I studied IT at XAMK, where my thesis measured WebAssembly against JavaScript.
Away from the screen: bouldering, skateboarding and a lot of stretching. Mostly I try to keep things in balance and enjoy the ride.
Selected work
All projects →- 01
nfcGuard Blocks distracting apps until you tap a physical NFC tag. Keep the tag somewhere inconvenient and opening Instagram costs a walk. - 02
Awareen A quiet timer that floats over every app and shows how long you have been on your phone today. No blocking, no ads, no internet permission. - 03
Knowledge Tree Notes as a graph, in the spirit of Zettelkasten. Every note is a node you can link, search and navigate by keyboard.
